Blessing Bottle 2014

I've encouraged readers to begin a "Blessing Bottle" this year. Were you able to start one? I'd love to see a picture! I used an old jelly jar, but readers offered all sorts of ideas: a decorative box, a crystal vase, a "Thank You Jesus" journal (great idea, Flower Lady Lorraine!)

Here are photos of how my bottle has filled. I'm so pleased about the date stamps on the pictures. :)Click on the caption links to read the original posts if you want. Why not begin to think about something like this for next year? It's not too soon, because next year starts next week! On Friday I'll show you how simple it is to set up. I haven't decided when I'll open my bottle to read all the notes: maybe Thursday evening, maybe New Years Eve, or maybe someday in between, but I'm looking forward to it. It wasn't an easy year, but God saw me through. It's a comfort to know that somewhere up in heaven he's written our days in a book; but also that he's collect things in a bottle too---our tears. ferree
You have kept count of my tossings;
put my tears in your bottle.
Are they not in your book? Psalm 56:8 (ESV)

...in your book they weere written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139:16 (ESV)

  1. I loved seeing your blessing bottle fill up.

    My 'Thank You Jesus' journal is almost filled too. It is something I write in every morning after reading my Bible. A great way to start my day, talking to Jesus about all sorts of things and thanking him for blessings small to large.

    Have a love, peace and joy filled Christmas and a wonderful 2015.

  2. Dear FlowerLady, I wish you a love, joy and peace filled Christmas too! I hope both my blog readers and yours will join us in filling a "Thank You Jesus" journal or Blessing Jar in 2015. Maybe someday we'll have the privilege of laying them at His feet up in heaven. Joyous Christmas to you!
