Widow to Widow ... Inspiration Happens

A widow posted this saying on Facebook, with her own exclamation----"I want this on my tee-shirt!" Figuratively speaking, I'm sure her wish has already been granted.

Widows inspire people every day---whether they intend to or not!

A widow can especially help another widow by simply sharing the burden. Listening lightens our load. Hearing how someone is honestly facing her challenges affirms that you'll make it too.
It's not all about "me" when we inspire others. It's just about being open and honest. When we offer another widow the rare and sacred privilege of walking together, it helps each one to not give up.

There will also come a day when we'll long to hear Someone else's good words too. Not that we inspired Him, for He is the source of inspiration, but rather that we've finished well. Don't you look forward to hearing Christ say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant ... Enter in ..."?

Step by step, moment by moment ... As we take on each day, determine to live it well and to God's glory. We can't control how things will play out, but one thing for sure---a widow is inspirational!

The key to influencing and inspiring those around you in a good way is found in these words of Jesus:
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 (NIV)
Stay close to Him today, my friend!

  2. Wonderful post!

I like the part where you said " Widows inspire people every day---whether they intend to or not!"

I often think of my grandma who was a widow at 67 years old. Shortly after my pop's went to Heaven, she was diagnosed with Bone Cancer. I was young and at the time and I really didn't understand what she meant when she spoke about her Faith and
how her Faith in God is what helped her through all she had to go through.

I often wondered how she could be so positive without much support with all that she had suffered.

Now that I am a widow; all that she said and all that she showed me is so clear. I know understand what she meant by her Faith and how her Faith in God is what brought her through.

My grandma at the time, didn't know that she would someday be such an inspiration to me long after she had gone to Heaven.

We inspire others and sometimes we see it and sometimes we don't. Either way, we should have the Faith keep on inspiring others even if we don't see the results. God works in mysterious ways and we don't always know how he is using us to help others.

This is why I think it's so important to keep moving forward (even after you feel like you've gone backwards)in your journey. By doing so, you are inspiring others to see that even during what feels like the worst of times; your Faith in God will carry you through.

Always inspire to be an inspiration to others and always do so under the assumption that you are an inspiration to others even if you can't see the outcome.

You are all an inspiration to me and I love how God uses Widows to inspire others.

Thanks Ferree..love your post and love what you wrote at the bottom - "Stay close to Him today, my friend!"

At the end of the day; that's what important! That in itself is an inspiration.

  3. Love this post, Ferree! Being an inspiration as a widow can only happen, as we stay attached to the Vine.
