How are we all doing?

How are you doing with the social distancing? It's hard! I think the rest of the world is getting a little taste of loneliness, don't you?

Here are some ideas to combat the quietness and time on your hands (if you have any).

  • Visit your local library's website. Have your library card with you and you can borrow eBooks and Audio books. Check out the Research section too and you might see some fun and safe online YouTube and video classes like CreativeBug.
  • Google for some free exercise or dance videos and get some adrenalin pumping.
  • Go outside for a walk.
  • Drive through for an ice cream cone or a Wendy's Frostie off the Dollar Menu.
  • Take your lunch outside for a picnic. We are fortunate this is not the middle of November so enjoy the weather.
  • If you dare go to the grocery store, remember that many grocery stores have a greeting card section and you probably know someone who could use some cheering up. Yes, it's OK to send it to yourself too!
  • Music, music, music! Anyway you like it--especially singing yourself. Or go out on your balcony and sing like the Italians are doing.
  • Take the dog for A LOT of walks.
  • Bake. The PO is still open. Mail your family and friends some cookies.
  • Plant a flower or two or three. Or get a flower pot to hang outside or pick up a cut bouquet at Trader Joe's.
  • Phone a friend and pray with them too.
  • Take a break from watching and surfing the news. Set a timer for at least 30 minutes.
  • Write down 3 or more things you are grateful for. Go on, I'll bet you can do more.
This won't last forever, and God is in control. Leave a comment or email me at wcplace@gmail.com if you'd like to share more ideas. Thanks!
