Getting to Know You

One of the greatest rewards of meeting with other women is to find out we are not alone.

When you host a group of widows for a Bible study, book club or even lunch after church they might not know each other as well as you do.
Here's a copy-and-paste that I use. It's a helpful little icebreaker. If you like, send everyone home
with a votive candle as gift.
Make sure everyone feels OK with sharing their story--if not, let them say "Pass."

For me it happened on:

My husband’s name was:

We’d been married for __________ years.

One of my favorite things about him:

I have _____ children, ages __________ to ___________.

I live in ____________

My occupation is:

If I were a candle, today my flame would be (check one):

Out cold
Maybe still smoldering
Trying so hard to re-light
Starting to flicker
Warm and steady
Dangerous!

Would you like to share your story with other blog readers? Copy and paste this into an email and send it to me at wcplace@gmail.com I will be happy to pray for you. If several respond I'll post the answers (first names only) so we can get to know each other better too.

Choosing the anonymous identity is easiest if you do not have your own blog.
Using a computer rather than a cell phone seems to work better. Thanks again!
