I See Widows

Welcome back to the WCP! I took off posting last week and did some travelling, visiting, and catching up. (Not much catching up though--I may as well give up on that, tsk tsk. If you could see my desktop you'd understand---and probably laugh).

But it's good to be back with the women who are woven into my heart, my thoughts and my prayers.

Tom came across this video and we were both touched by it. The imaging is very fuzzy, but that's ok, it's not so much about the individuals as it is about the message. And it's not the faces I see anyway. When I watch this particular girl do you know what I see? I see a widow. I imagine you. I see myself. In the picture frame of eternity this is what we do.

"...let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus..." (from Hebrews 12:1,2 NASB)

  4. Hi Ferree - hope you received some R&R while you were away.
    (you were missed)

Even if she hadn't finished first (to me) the beauty of it was....."she got back up", she kept on keeping on, she didn't despair......also.....
I noticed... there was no one there to pull her up, so it must have been grace that gave her the strength to get back up and move on. We sure do a lot of falling in our race of life, we get knocked down- but not out. L / Dodi :-)

  8. Thank you all for the welcome back, and most of all for your beautiful comments and insights.
Plus, @Flower Lady Lorraine, please accept my apologies. I just found comments from you that have been waiting in my comments moderation for months! I'm so sorry, and I'm mystified as to why they didn't go to my email like the others usually do. Thanks for sticking with me! I hope to solve the mystery soon and if any bloggers out there have some solutions for me, please advise! thanks again everyone.

  11. Thank you, Ferree for sharing such an inspirational video capturing the beauty of this woman's spirit. I wasn't able to get up as fast as she did after my interrupted life threw me down, but through the grace of a loving God, I did get up to continue on.
