Our Identity in Christ

Hi everyone,
Today's post isn't the usual Friday Fun, but I hope it'll do far better than that. So grab a Kleenex just in case, and then release yourself into your true identity which, although it includes widowhood for now, who you truly are in Christ is far more! If you're not sure what a relationship with Christ means and how God truly does love you, please email me at WCplace@gmail.com so I can help clarify that for you.

Ephesians 2:3b - 10
Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.  For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

  1. That is a powerful video, and one we need to be reminded of often. As a widow,I sometimes struggle with who I am and perhaps I am not alone in this.

    1. I am really struggling with who I am and what I should be doing. I saw myself as a mother and a wife when my kids grew up and out of the house I still had my husband and my wife hat. We did everything together he completed me he made me feel alive and gave me the desire to do things. All that is gone and I am left. Alone

  2. We see a lot of commercials today about Identity Theft - If you purchase this program, it will keep you safe from someone stealing your Identity.
The real Identity Theft is Satan and he attacks us daily, hourly trying to re-program us, to steal our worth, our value and identity. We are forever being bombarded ( the American Consumer) to be dis-satisified with one thing or another.
Most t.v. commericials, highway billboards are superficial and overly glamourous - most magazines have on their front covers - the perfect pepsodent smile, the perfect body, the perfect hair - the perfect skin - the perfect this or that... - the list is endless.

After my husband passed away, I suppose it was not even 2-3 days , I was told that my Identity was no longer going to be Mrs..._ _ __ _ . I really struggled with that un-asked opinion, and perhaps there was a tad of truth in it.
I prayed and did a lot of homework, and then God reassured me - I was safe and that if I lose everything in life and everybody, I can never lose Him, his love or who I am as his child, our very names have been engraven into the palms of his hands.. (my identity is safe) Even though others may see us differently the real message is -How do I see myself?
Identity Theft is allowing others to define us by their standards, perceptions or opinions and this is when we become discouraged allowing them to define us.
Years ago there was a secular song I heard on t.v. by Dixie Chicks of which the lyrics really resonated . ..

    " I am Rosemary's grand-daugher
the spitting image of my Father
and when the day is done
Nothing changes who I am "

I am defined by what my Heavenly Father says, not the PHD'S or any of the ologist's.

  3. Oh, my goodness! I cried profusely when I saw this! Certainly touches something deep inside of me! I know God loves me and created me -in my mind ....but my emotions don't say the same thing - and I guess it is Satan trying to make us believe a lie. ... and the response from the anonymous writer above, is really good - thanks for sharing.
