Hope Shines When Widows Pitch In

Although you yourself might be in mourning, reaching out to help others is still an option; and for followers of Jesus Christ, it's a lifestyle, a habit and a desire that can't be snuffed out by tears of grief. I'd like to encourage you to continue the helping and good works you were involved in before widowhood. If those avenues aren't where you feel God is leading anymore, then begin to search for other needs and missions. Start with your local church and the outreaches and connections they endorse.

If you can further your influence, consider this wonderful organization---She Is Safe (SIS for short). "SIS works to prevent, rescue and restore women and girls from abuse and exploitation in high risk places around the world, equipping them to build a life of freedom, faith and a strong future." Please visit the SIS website to find out how you can become involved in the October 11th International Day of the Girl and their other advocacies. It's not too early to start! Visit and learn about the valient women at She Is Safe today. ferree

  2. Dear Deanna, Thank you for sharing how the Lord is your rock. It's such a blessing when we can depend on and lean on him through these storms of life. Loneliness is one of the biggest challenges for the majority of widows I hear from, so please know that you're not alone. If you have a Facebook account, you might be interested in connecting with other godly widows who help each other and learn from each other. I have Lifeboat groups for newer widows, but also a group for those who are past that first year. Thanks again for your precious words.
