Movies That Need Warning Labels

We've agreed it's OK to cry, but sometimes you're just sick of it, so why bring on more?
Here are some movies that have emotionally ambushed me. Some have left me wrung out like a dish rag, others not so much, but that's just me. Nevertheless, they involve widows and/or widowers.

A Vow to Cherish (1999)
Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009)
Sleepless In Seattle (1993)
P.S. I Love You   (2007)
Just Like Heaven  (2005)
Message In A Bottle (1999)
The Notebook (2004)
Knowing (2009)
Signs (2002)
The Young Victoria (2009)
Up (2009)

Admittedly, you can also use this list for certain times when you WANT to cry but for some reason cannot.

I make no guarantees that you'll like these movies or find them appropriate or inoffensive. Here is my ULTIMATE FAVORITE website you should go to before you spend a dime on a movie: http://www.imdb.com/

I work in a library and tell people about this website all the time. They love it!
  • Go to the website. Type in the title of the movie in the search box, click search.
  • More than one title might appear--which is why I gave you the year info, too. Once you get to the movie you want, you'll see it's popularity rating, summaries, list of actors, etc.
  • Scroll down- down- down until you get to the "View content advisory for parents."
  • Click on that and you'll find out very discreetly just how much stuff you're going to see in all these categories: sex & nudity, violence & gore, profanity, alchohol/drugs/smoking, frightening scenes.
If you check out the movie ratings ahead of time you'll save yourself some disappointments.
Do you know other movie titles we should add to this list?
