MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST DVD - Day of Discovery

Yesterday I posted a brief bio of how Biddy Chambers, widow of Oswald Chambers, compiled the  devotional book loved by millions around the world, My Utmost for His Highest. Thanks to a dear friend of this blog, Dodi, we now have a link to "the rest of the story," with fascinating details, artwork and photos put together as a DVD by Day of Discovery

Approximately 30 minutes long, it's time well spent. So when you get a chance, click on this link for MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST DVD - Day of Discovery. And remember, if you subscribe to this blog by email you might need to click the blog title to connect to the Internet link. Listen for the real meaning of "Biddy" Chambers nickname, but most of all take hope from this story of committed Christians.

Begin to consider the legacy that perhaps God would have you leave to the world. Learn to see beauty where others only see sand, like it says in the DVD. And use your gifts--be they a pencil or a teapot--or your agony--for God's glory. God has a mighty plan and purpose for you and for this chapter of widowhood in your life. Like Biddy Chambers, you too, can be abandoned to God, available to people, and mightily used by God.

P.S. Oswald Chambers was in Egypt serving British soldeirs as a chaplain when he died in 1917. Let's keep modern Egypt in mind today and pray for the families of the 600+ killed there in the last week or two. Also pray for the safety of Christians and the spread of the gospel. Thank you!

Did you remarry after the death of your husband? I hope you don't mind me asking.

  6. For the question above about if I've remarried---I'm glad you asked, I don't mind at all. I really try to live my life as an open book so others can take hope that they'll make it through this too. So the answer is yes, God' path for me through widowhood led me to a new marriage. (Which I NEVER expected! I'm still so surprised after 11 years!) I've got a few blog posts about it too. If you're interested in hearing more about my remarriage, there is a keyword search box on the right column. Type the name Tom into the box, click the search button and scroll to the top of the page for the listings. And feel free to ask me other questions too. I'll share whatever I can of my experience.
