This is my Joey. He's an Australian Shepherd, 11 years old in January. He is sweet and loving and smart and obedient. He's my buddy, my travelling companion, and one last link to the life I had with my Bob.

This was my precious ,and sweetest dog ever: Milo...A surprise present from T.O....But only about 2 months after my beloved man went to heaven,so did my precious Milo :'(  ~Rita R.
This is our sweet Sugarbaby who is a miniature greyhound. She was Wayne's dog from day 1! When we brought her home 2 years ago back in April, she hopped on his lap and began licking the left side of his face and always smelling it, Little did we know then, that she knew something was wrong with him, as he progressed she never left his side and would lay with him for hours after his radiation treatments. It finally came time for us to find her a new home; sad yes, but Wayne wanted to make sure she was well taken care of because of me working full time there wasn't anyway for her to have a doggie door as we live in a townhouse. The Lord bless us with a wonderful coupke who have 4 acres and she is a veternarian who takes Sugar to work with her everyday and then she runs 5 miles everyday woth Gordon. She has become more spoiled than when we had her, but I know Wayne is looking down from heaven smiling and watching his little bundle of joy have freedom to run (she can run upto 45 miles an hour) and be fully loved.

This is my dog Cinnamon, she is a 13 year old Chocolate Lab. The old girl is pretty gray as you can see, but a sweeter animal you'll never find.
From the time she was about 8 months old until she was about 3 years old, she went with my husband every day to work. He was a semi-truck driver with his own truck, so she was his truck dog. Because she was around so many people every day, he made sure she was highly socialized.
But first and foremost she was HIS dog, when she couldn't go in the truck any more (he changed jobs) he would take her everywhere he went on the weekends in his pickup. George was an avid home-brewer and he bottled under the name "Brown Dog Brewery". Guess who was on the label?
After George passed in June, I really didn't know if she was going to make it. She was so stressed at first, almost nothing could comfort her. I was so afraid she'd give up and just die too. But I kept loving on her and she's adjusted pretty well. ~Kathye

These are my three fur-children, two of whom have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge to go run with their Dad in Heaven. Pudge, the boy at the top, was our first beagle. He was named the Boogie Woogie Beagle Boy because he boogied every chance he got! He was 10 when he crossed over the Bridge. Remi, the girl on the left was our second beagle. She came from an abusive home and came with lots of b...
aggage but we were able to gain her love and trust and the last 12 years of her life were wonderful for her. She was almost 18 when she crossed over the Bridge, just a few short weeks ago. Ali, the silly girl on the right is my only girl now. She's 14 but will always be my perpetual puppy and she keeps me young. I'm SO thankful I have a warm body with a wagging tail and happy smiles when I come home. I always get the biggest puppy dance when I walk through the door. All of my beagles have brought me such joy! I'm so thankful God created them for us! ~Sandra S.

I know this time of year is so very hard. This is my dog, Georgia, named in memory of my George. Yeah, I know, I am a bit "craaazy" and Georgia puts up with my antics of dressing her up. Hey, isn't that what dogs are for? :D I hope this puts a smile on your face. "Georgia, Lou Who" (from the Grinch)
This is what happens when you don't have young children or grandbabies to dress up -- you grab the dog! This is Georgia -- we brought her into our family a few months after George died -- yes, she is named in memory of him. Although I would never have chosen to get a puppy so soon after George's death, God knew we needed her. She brought comfort, a feeling of safety and just plain joy and laughter, with some angst of training a puppy. She puts up with my shenanigans. My friends love to see what I come up with at different times of the year. Crazy, huh? But it brings smiles.  ~Beth

This is Fred. He is 10 years old...a Christmas gift from my Jim back in 2002. Since Jim was sick and home bound for years before The Lord took him Home, Fred was his dog....not as much mine, since I worked. He is the most lovable fellow. He is so very loyal. He went into deep depression when Jim died and sadly searched the house for him constantly. He quit eating and I feared I would lose him. So I started keeping him right with me, which comforted me, too. I used to not let him run the full house, but kept him on the lower level of our home where Jim usually was. He agreed to eat ice cream one day after refusing to eat for a while. He will eat most anything now....just like me! He is now so clingy to me that I have to be careful not to fall on him trying to walk. If I cry he sits right on me and stares in my sad eyes with his...until I usually laugh at him. Where I go, he goes. I take a shower and he waits next to the tub. I can't count the times I've sat on him. He is, to me, not only a memory gift from my Jim, but a true gift from God. He is such company for me and comforts me. We both lost our soul companion....but we have each other. He is very smart and sometimes seems to know what I am saying.....if not what I'm thinking. He has helped me so much not to feel so alone.

  1. This comment is for Beth who dressed up her K9 with the pink shirt, blonde wig and christmas ornament........I so enjoyed this precious photo....and as I looked at it and chuckled..... I then thought it's a good thing that most pets do have have the word DIGNITY in their vocabulary.... because if they did..... we might have a struggle on our hands. I enjoyed all these photos.
The other night I wa sobbing so hard in my bed.... my kittycat Lizzy jumped up on my bed and started licking my forehead so tender.... and I thought how God comforts us in the least unexpecting ways. Dodi / SC

  2. I also have a yorkie. his name is Rascal. And he lives up to his name. I also have two other dogs; black lab mix and jack russell mix. Rascal is most crazy about his daddy. He always laid on easy chair with Al. Al loved to sit in his chair when he was feeling bad. After he passed in Jan, 2013, Rascal would stare at Al's chair and then back to me, chair/me and so on..like he was asking me 'where's daddy'? I felt so bad for him. He was just lost for weeks. I think he's finally starting to come around. He does not get on that chair at all now. Now he clings to me. Bless his heart. God Bless,Billie
