Prayer Requests

Hello, Palmetto trees!
Dear Readers,
Today I'm flying home from the beautiful state of South Carolina where I've been house hunting! In the weeks to come I'll be moving 500 miles away from my darling Ohio and my 32 years of memories---raising a family, serving three churches, burying Bruce, marrying Tom, writing a book, starting this widows Christian blog, and so much more . . .

It was quite a shock less than 6 weeks ago when Tom found out that he, and 300 other employees, would be out of work! We take it as nothing less than a miracle that he was offered a position one week later, and we feel very grateful and humbled to be so fortunate in this awful economy.

So long, midwest!
I'm looking forward to settling into my new home and devoting myself full-time to this widows ministry. But in the meantime, please bear with the random blog posts to come, and as a special favor, would you pray for me? Pray that we'll find the right house at the right price, pray that we'll find a church home right away, and pray that Tom and I, both born and bred "Yankees" will adapt to Southern culture and summertime heat and humidity with love and grace.

  1. Welcome to the South! Those photos look familiar- I too am in the "Low Country" - the Georgia side in Savannah and I think you will love it.
    Prayers for your new home-

  7. wow! Blogger is running me in circles tonight with multiples of my one little comment and its deletes! But I do want to say I think I'll love SC, and I hope it'll give me the opportunity to meet both of you---Kelly and Athena---God's plans are truly far beyond all we ask or think! :-)
