Surrounding yourself with wholesome, positive music is a good remedy for grief. Click on the music video link on the sidebar here, but also why not fill your home or car with good music, too? Christian radio gives you great variety, the convenience of not having to put together your own playlists, and gives you first offerings of the very latest from today's musicians. Tune your radio in, or stream it to your computer, etc.

I'm thankful for salvation--that the Lord saved me from eternity in hell; He also saved me from my own personal hells of sinful choices and destructive thinking, and from the enemy himself who makes this world as close to hell as believers in Christ will ever get. I realize those aren't the usual traditional thoughts to sink a fork into a slice of turkey with, but rock-bottom---that's the foundation of all thanksgiving. God made a way for us to escape Hell! I'm going to bend the knee to Him today!
I have almost exclusively listened to Christian music and other types of Christian radio programming in the last 20 months. I find it to be uplifting.
ReplyDeleteNegotiating one's way through grief is difficult. Making good choices about what messages we take in while we're so vulnerable is terribly important.

ReplyDeleteI agree! Thank You, God, for Christian radio! Sometimes it's hard to think, let alone pray, and it's been such a comfort to have Christian music available at the ready to soothe the waves of grief as they arise.
