Helping Children Grieve

Thursdays are the day I try to provide helpful Christian resources for widows. If you have children, you might want to consider sending them to a Grief Camp, like Rebecca explained yesterday and Tuesday. To find a Grief Camp in your area contact your church or a hospice center. You'll be amazed at the listings that come up if you Google 'grief camp.' There are so many local resources it's impossible for me to list them.

For some good Christian articles on children and teens grief, visit Focus on the Family. Click here for the starting article in a short series:

And here's a list of books and audio stories for children that address grief:

My teenagers insisted they did not need any help or counselling. Today I wonder, and wish I would have had some options like this presented to me. I'm not saying that kids must have counselling. I'm just saying that widowed moms and dads should pray about it, look at the available resources, and make an informed decision.
We're in this together! If you'd like to join the private Lifeboat support group on Facebook, just 'friend' me, Ferree Hardy. I'll add you to the group and you may try it out! It's free, and if you find it's not for you, simply click the opt out button. I hope to 'meet' you soon.
