The Month of May

Dear Reader,
Have I ever told you how much I appreciate you?
I know-- I may not even know you, or hardly know you beyond a URL or Facebook status. Yet, I do know that if you've been widowed, you're on a valient journey through grief, walking towards hope.

Somedays you walk, somedays you must struggle, fight and claw your way through. Somedays you want to give up, give in to despair and cursing--well, if you're like I was you do; others of you are lovely, patient saints; some of you demonstrate godliness through a practical outlook and hardy personality.

No matter your personality or situation-- crises large and looming larger, or crisis comparatively small, confusing/relieving-- the click of your visit tells me you'll survive. You've got spunk and spark. If you were the sick man to whom Jesus asked, "Do you want to get well?" you'd be saying, "Yes, Lord." God moves in to help such as you; He is with you, He knows, He sees, and He will deliver you. I've found out He's like that.

This is why I want to tell you I appreciate you--God has a work to complete in you, and if you've had even the slightest sip of hope from this blog, then I've experienced the privilege of helping you on your journey. Although I may not know you, I love you and pray for you because God knows you. I don't know why, but it humbles me and is an honor for me. I can't explain it any better than that.

For the month of May I plan to simply reprint the most popular posts once a week, on Mondays. I also hope to add some really helpful new pages and other surprises --so be sure to check back and see what's new! I have a book I have to work on and I've discovered I can't blog and finish a book at the same time; but I'll be back in June, Deo Volente.

Can you help me out while I'm holed up?
  • Write to me! I'll be able to reply to comments, emails or Facebook messages
  • Help boost the Follow buttons to 100! Have you ever clicked on the Google Follow button? It's a handy little gadget that makes it easy for you to view the first few lines of the latest posting here. Then you'll know if you really want to visit this blog that day. And you'll be the first to know when there are new posts. It'd be nice if you had a photo, but you don't need one.
  • Put your tribute on the Memorial Wall!  With Memorial Day coming up the end of May, now is a perfect time to add your listing to the Memorial Wall at the top of this blog. Directions are there for you. It's also a great prayer reminder. Just copy and paste it onto a blank paper, print it off and put it in your Bible as a reminder to pray for these precious widows and their families.
  • Visit other blogs and find out you're not alone. See the right side panel for a few. Also please pray for Joannah at "Beauty for Ashes." Her baby is due May 14!
  • Use the Google Search box (over to your right) The Search box is really cool. Just type in any word, name, Bible reference, etc and posts about that item will pop up. Also click on the Archives; check out the page tabs at the top of the blog, too.
I look forward to working on my book--of course it's for widows--but I will desperately miss blogging! I'm anxious to get back already!

Until then, please pray for me. I'll be praying for you.

  5. Ferree, I appreciate you, too. And I'm so excited you're writing a book. Your blog-writing style is so gentle and compassionate as you help us put truth into practice; your book will be no less, I'm sure.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I am not always able to reply but your remarks mean a lot to me and will appear as soon as possible.

Using a computer rather than a cell phone seems to work better. Thanks again!
