Cry of the Orphan

Dear Reader,
Part of the grief recovery process involves reaching out to others even when it hurts. The church is commanded to care for widows and orphans. (James 1:27) As much as it hurts to be a widow, there are children who have lost both a father and a mother. Who will care for them?
For more information please click here to pray for orphans during this vigil week.

Heavenly Father,
Our hearts go out to these children who have lost both their father and their mother. Lord, please comfort them in their sorrow. Help them to know they are loved by You; that as Psalm 27:10 says "the Lord will take me up," when their parents are gone.
Send loving, faithful adoptive and foster parents their way. Stir people even today to reach out to these children. Arouse churches and pastors with the need. Empower them to equip and send out their people. Not on temporary mission trips alone, but on lifelong commitments to nurture and raise godly little ones.
We love You, Lord, and praise You that You bring hope to this broken and hurting world.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
