Recipe for Last-Minute WOWS

If you need a super-quick, super-great Christmas take-along, try these turtle candies. A young widow from down south makes them every year and she shared her recipe with me. Here's all it takes: 1 small pretzel + 1 Rolo candy + 1 pecan half    Here's all you do: line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Place a Rolo on top of each pretzel and bake for 4 minutes. Place a pecan half on top of the Rolo and smoosh it down (my favorite part, besides eating them). Let the chocolate harden back up and try not to eat too many!
And what is it about southern cooks and good recipes? Visit WCP friend, my dear Miss Polly! She's always got something sweet (besides herself) going on her blog.
Sometimes starting to bake or make things for others is a helpful way to work out those blah- can't- wait- to- get- this- day- over- and- done- with feelings.
Hang in there, and if you're having a hard time today, e-mail me or talk about it with the friends who understand on our Facebook group, Lifeboat. Lifeboat is a private group, so if you'd like to join in, please send me a friend request on Facebook. Mention "Lifeboat" and I'll accept your request and add you in as soon as I can.

  2. Hi Linda, I'm sorry you're not having any luck with Facebook. I don't have a Facebook 'page,' which is something a number of ministries do, so maybe that's the problem. Try using the regular search box to look up people. Type in my name, Ferree Hardy. I'm pretty sure there's only one of me. When you find me, send me a friend request with a message containing the word Lifeboat. See if that helps. Otherwise email me with your contact info and I'll try to work it from my side of the pond. :)
